SQLearn E-learning facilities, the E-learning software platform and E-learning courses, were certified on 31st March, 2016 by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) according to ABS Standards for Certification of Maritime Education Facilities & Training Courses.
This certification came after SQLearn’s successful launch of vLMS, a web based e-learning management system specifically designed for providing management of e-learning courses in the Maritime Industry. Furthermore, SQLearn’s custom e-learning interactive courses and reflective lessons have been proven very helpful for crew managers and crews alike.
The certification came as a result of SQLearn personnel combined efforts promoting recognition of our company to the Maritime Industry.
“SQLearn has demonstrated a commitment to pioneer and develops e-learning facilities that will help its customers in the Maritime Industry to use an efficient e-learning management system,” says SQLearn Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Spyridon Gkoumas.
About American Bureau of Shipping
The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is a classification society, with a mission to promote the security of life, property and the natural environment, primarily through the development and verification of standards for the design, construction and operational maintenance of marine-related facilities. At the end of 2012, ABS was the second largest class society with a classed fleet of nearly 12,000 commercial vessels and maritime facilities. ABS’ core service is the provision of classification services through the development of standards called ABS Rules. These Rules form the basis for assessing the design and construction of new vessels and the integrity of existing vessels and marine structures.
SQLearn has a great expertise and over 10 years of experience in the field of e-learning and has successfully implemented and maintains many installations of e-learning management systems in large organizations and companies. vLMS is developed by SQLearn as a web based e-learning management system specifically designed for providing management of e-learning courses in the maritime industry. E-learning content (courses) and user accounts are transferred to the vessels and consequent actions (reports) of the users on board are sent back to crew managers. Furthermore, SQLearn develops custom e-learning interactive courses based on a company’s training material and its specific needs as well as reflective lessons based on incident reports.
