The e-Learning system that SQLearn provides free of charge for the next three years to all ten Merchant Marine Academies (MMA) in Greece, within the content of the cooperation with the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy was presented on Wednesday 25th of April 2018 in the Merchant Marine Academy of Hydra.
After the presentation of the system in the MMAs in Chios (25/1), in Aspropyrgos (14/2), in Kymi (27/2), in Epirus (15/3), in the Ionian Islands (16/3) and in Macedonia (20/4), the platform was also presented in the MMA of Hydra in the presence of the Director of Marine Training of Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy Stylianos Bellas, the Commander of the Merchant Marine Academy of Hydra Cpt Evangelos Danopoulos, the Director of MMA of Hydra Cpt. Christos Kotzias, the Deputy Director of MMA of Hydra Vassileios Stavropoulos, the representative of the company Theta Marine Consulting, which provided the primary material, Cpt. Ioannis Theodorakas, professors, officers of the MMA of Syros and officials.
During the presentation, it was emphasized by the speakers the importance of this e-learning programme, as it consists of educational material, necessary for seafarers in order to be well prepared for their future careers.
The eLearning platform https://aen.sqlearn.com/ designed by SQLearn, includes a Training Matrix plugin, as well as e-learning courses which SQLearn has developed in cooperation with Theta Marine Consulting, which provided the primary material. The list of courses is constantly updated, covers international, national and flag requirements and includes topics in the fields of safety, technical subjects, incident reports (lessons learnt) and other.
SQLearn’s solutions for e-learning, the learning management system and the e-learning courses are certified by ABS (American Bureau of Shipping).
In the context of Corporate Social Responsibility and in order to emphasize the importance of training offered to remote regions of our country and to support their work, SQLearn is going to move on with the rest MMAs in Greece within the next months.
